Bhagavad
Gita
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Bhagavad-gita is knowledge of five basic truths and the relationship
of each truth to the other: These five truths are Krishna, or
God, the individual soul, the material world, action in this world,
and time. The Gita lucidly explains the nature of consciousness,
the self, and the universe. It is the essence of India's spiritual
wisdom, the answers to questions posed by philosophers for centuries.

Srimad-Bhagavatam
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Srimad-Bhagavatam, an epic philosophical and literary classic,
holds a prominent position in India’s voluminous written
wisdom. The Bhagavatam is the postgraduate, post-Vedic text of
spiritual understanding. It has served as the inspiration for
countless works of literature, song, drama, painting, and sculpture.
Known as “the ripe fruit of the tree of Vedic literature,”
Srimad-Bhagavatam is the most complete and authoritative exposition
of Vedic knowledge. Covering everything from the nature of the
self to the origin of the universe, it touches upon all fields
of knowledge. Vyasadeva compiled Srimad-Bhagavatam, after Krishna
left this world 5,000 years ago. The 18,000-verse treatise centers
on the science of God and devotion to Him, and includes biographies
of great devotees who followed the path of Bhakti and attained
Krishna. The first verse of Srimad-Bhagavatam makes clear that
the book is intended for people serious about spiritual progress;
it will not deal with sectarian religious ideas, philosophical
conjecture, or worldly concerns. The second text promises that
anyone who reads the book systematically will achieve the spiritual
success meant for all human beings.

Brahma Samhita
His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati
Gosvami Thakura
Translation and commentary by Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Goswami
Thakura. Lord Brahma saw Krishna directly and composed a prayer
based on his Realizations--a striking prayer by one who has seen
the Truth. Krishna revealed His own form to Brahma, along with
His spiritual planets, His devotees and their relationships with
Him. Overwhelmed by this transcendental revelation, Brahma spoke
these words glorifying Krishna and what he saw. Brahma's awe and
love permeates the text and gives an overview of the workings
of the cosmic creation. Follow Brahma's vision and understanding
to the feet of Krishna and see Him face-to-face yourself.

Sri
Isopanisad
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
The 108 Upanishads are considered the essence of all the Vedas,
and Ishopanishad is foremost among them. Discover the distilled
essence of all knowledge in these eighteen enlightening verses.
For thousands of years, people on a spiritual quest have consulted
the mystical, intensely philosophical Upanishads. As the name
implies (upa-near; ni-down; shad-to sit), one is advised to sit
near a spiritual teacher to learn. To learn what? This Upanishad's
name gives the clue: Isha means "the supreme controller."
Let us sit near the spiritual guide to learn about the supreme
controller: God. The process is simple, provided one learns from
an authentic guide. The translation and commentary of Srila Prabhupada
strictly adheres to the book's intention, assuring you of a legitimate
understanding of the depths of Upanishadic knowledge.

Teachings
of Lord Caitanya
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Five hundred years ago, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu gave the gift of
love of God to everyone He met. Now is your chance to take the
gift He came to give you. Lord Chaitanya spearheaded a spiritual
renaissance in sixteenth-century India that had as its foundation
the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. Five hundred years before
Gandhi, this remarkable personality inaugurated a massive nonviolent
civil-disobedience movement. He introduced a revolutionary spiritual
movement based on the world's oldest and most comprehensive religious
scriptures, the Vedas. This movement, He taught, would have universal
appeal because it was based on the Absolute Truth, which transcends
sectarian notions of race or creed. Teachings of Lord Chaitanya,
which is a summary study of Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, documents
Chaitanya's conversations with the great scholars, kings, saints
and mystics of His day.

Teachings
of Queen Kunti
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Queen Kunti, a tragic and heroic figure, emerges from an explosive
era in the history of ancient India. Her teachings are simple
and illuminating outpourings revealing the deepest transcendental
emotions of the heart and the deepest philosophical and theological
penetrations of the intellect. At the conclusion of the devastating
Kurukshetra war, Queen Kunti approaches Lord Krishna as He prepares
to depart the scene of the battle. Kunti's words are words of
glorification impelled by a divine love steeped in wisdom. Kunti's
spontaneous glorification of Lord Krishna and her description
of the spiritual path are immortalized in the Mahabharata and
the Bhagavata Purana (Srimad-Bhagavatam), and they have been recited,
chanted, and sung by sages and philosophers for thousands of years.
As they appear in the First Canto of the Bhagavatam, Queen Kunti's
celebrated prayers consist of only twenty-six couplets (verses
18 through 43 of the Eighth Chapter), yet they are considered
a philosophical, theological, and literary masterpiece. Let her
heartfelt words of wisdom bring solace to your soul.

Comes from Life
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
A critical look at widely-believed assumptions and theories held
by modern scientists about the origin of life. For people who
have come to accept every pronouncement of modern scientists as
tested and proven truth, this book will be an eye-opener. Life
Comes From Life is an impromptu but brilliant critique of some
of the dominant policies, theories and presuppositions of modern
science and scientists by one of the greatest philosophers and
scholars of the twentieth century, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada's vivid analysis uncovers the
hidden and blatantly unfounded assumptions that underlie currently
fashionable doctrines about the origins and purpose of life. This
book is based on taped morning-walk conversations between Srila
Prabhupada and his disciple Thoudam D. Singh, Ph.D., an organic
chemist.

Teachings
of Lord Kapila
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
Prabhupada
Lord Kapila is a renowned sage and the author of the philosophical
system known as Sankhya, which forms an important part of India's
ancient philosophical heritage. Sankhya is a system of metaphysics
that deals with the elemental principles of the universe; it is
also a system of spiritual knowledge, with its own methodology,
and culminates in full consciousness of the Supreme Absolute.
Lord Kapila, however, is not an ordinary philosopher or sage but
an incarnation of God. This book deals with his answers to his
mother's enquiry about how to overcome ignorance and delusion
and attain spiritual enlightenment. The underlying theme running
throughout his answers and throughout Srila Prabhupada's commentaries
on them is that one can achieve this goal by practicing bhakti-yoga,
the process of linking one's heart to the Lord's heart through
loving devotional service.
This series, with original Sanskrit, translations, and purports,
sheds light on such topics as the significance of the guru, the
psychology of consciousness, the characteristics of a self-realized
person, the science of meditation, the nature of transcendental
knowledge, and the process of ultimate liberation.

Teachings
of Prahlada Maharaja
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
Prabhupada
Prahlada Maharaja, a five-year-old boy, had to undergo a great
deal of suffering at the hands of his father, Hiranyakashipu,
a demon who was torturing him for being a devotee. The boy was
trampled by elephants, thrown from a mountain, placed in boiling
oil and thrown into a snake pit, yet he was silent during this
whole ordeal. Prahlada Maharaja said: "My Lord, I am not
suffering, for I know the art of being happy." How is this?
"Simply by hearing about You and chanting about You I am
happy." This is the business of a devotee - hearing and chanting
about the Lord. This is sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam.
